The opportunity to photograph Macy Lenertz as she worked on a couple Buttercup Bakery treats was like hanging out with a friend during the coziest part of her day. We shot these photos during that precious window when her youngest daughter was napping down the hall and her oldest was at preschool, and it felt so familiar—I'm also often working on projects during pockets of nap time!

Macy is a mom of two little girls, and you can see the same care, patience, and sweetness she brings to her daughters in everything she does with her beautiful (and delicious!) desserts. She’s one of those rare people who makes everyone she meets feel cared for—so genuine, warm, and kind—and this shoot offers such a lovely glimpse into the heart behind what she does as an in-home cottage baker.
