I met Joy in 2023 and quickly discovered how much our lives overlapped—from raising boys close in age to championing a love of reading in our homes. The more I got to know her, the clearer it became that Joy truly embodies her name; the joy of the Lord radiates from her in a way that makes you feel lighter just being around her.
Photographing her family as they played and laughed together in an open field felt less like a session and more like watching love unfold in real time. Her warmth, beauty, and steady heart shone through every moment—chasing her boys, snuggling close, and savoring the simplicity of being together. These images feel like a reflection of who she is—steadfast, bright, and full of grace—and I’m honored to have preserved a little piece of their story.
